Head Women's Tennis Coach
Head coach Paul Peck has led the Army West Point women's tennis program to unprecedented success as the dominant force in the Patriot League since taking the reins in the spring of 1995. Peck has managed a winning record every season on the Banks of the Hudson since 1996 and enters his 33rd season at the helm of the Black Knights in 2026-27. A 1984 honors graduate of the University of Illinois, Peck enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1985 and received his commission at officer candidate school at Fort Benning, Ga. He spent three years as a platoon leader in an artillery unit in Germany. Later, Peck commanded an Alpha Battery of 5/18 FA during Operation Desert Storm, earning a Bronze Star for his accomplishments during the war. He also received the MacArthur Leadership Award for III Corp Artillery, as the most outstanding officer who exemplified the Army code. After receiving a master's degree in exercise physiology from Illinois, Peck was assigned to teach in the Academy's Department of Physical Education. In 1997, he was promoted to the rank of Major before retiring from the Army. After being ranked regionally in the Midwest as a junior player, Peck went on to play at the collegiate level and in many USTA tournaments as an adult. Ranked as high as eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference, he won the Duncan Open in 1990, and twice was selected to play for the All-Army tennis team. Peck is also a USPTA and USPTR certified pro. Assistant Women's Tennis Coach
Ari Roberts was promoted to Assistant Women's Tennis Coach at Army West Point ahead of the 2024-25 season. In his first year as assistant coach, Army finished 24-6 overall with a perfect 8-0 Patriot League record, claiming the No. 1 seed at the Patriot League Championships and a program with four players named to the Second Team All-League. In 2025-26, his second year, the squad went 22-8 overall with a 6-2 Patriot League record, reaching the Patriot League Championships semifinals and earning Army's first UTR Sports NIT Championships berth. He was also named a Coach K Award finalist in the Corps Squad Athletics Coach category in 2025-26. Roberts previously served as Volunteer Assistant Coach since 2021-22, including as Men's Tennis Volunteer Assistant Coach. He is the Founder and President of MatchPoint Tennis in Goshen, N.Y., established in 2002, which serves 200 juniors weekly and features eight courts and four indoor pickleball courts. Roberts is a USTA National Coach serving as head coach of Junior World Team Tennis and the U-14 Zonal team for USTA Eastern, and he serves as President of USTA Eastern's Board of Directors for 2025-2026. He has been the traveling coach for three MatchPoint Tennis junior players who have collected four National Balls. Roberts is a 2001 graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Business Management and minors in Legal Studies and Finance.
