Head Coach
Tyler Goulding enters his fifth season as the Air Force golf head coach. After spending five seasons as an assistant coach to George Koury, Goulding was named interim head coach in the summer of 2021 and was named head coach that fall. In 2023-24, while being one of the youngest in the nation, Goulding’s Falcons improved the team’s average score per tournament 20 strokes from 319 to 299 per round. That season, the Falcons placed ahead of both Army and Navy in the Folds of Honor Tournament. In 2024-25, the Falcons placed 10th at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational. The 10th place finish and the 878 team score were the best by the Falcons at the GMFI since 2019. A 2007 Academy graduate, Goulding returned to the Academy in the summer of 2016 after spending three seasons at the University of Southern California. During his time at USC, he coached six All-Americans, seven all-conference selections and two Pac-12 Freshman of the Year award winners. The Trojans advanced to the NCAA Championships every year he was on staff, finishing second in 2015 and advancing to the semifinals in 2016. In 2015-16, the Trojans claimed three event titles, while earning runner-up honors in two additional tournaments. Following a third-place finish at the Albuquerque Regional, USC placed fourth in the NCAA stroke play tournament to advance to the match final. Assistant Golf Coach
Jimmy Makloski is in his fourth full season as an assistant golf coach at the Air Force Academy. Makloski was named the assistant golf coach on Jan. 12, 2022. Makloski, a native of Pueblo, Colo., graduated from CSU in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration (human resources). Makloski was the Rams’ team captain in 2016-17 and was an academic All-American in the 2015-2016 season. He played 48 career collegiate rounds with three top-10 finishes, including an eighth-place finish at the 2016 Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational (217, +1). After graduating in 2017, Makloski competed on several professional mini tours and state opens. He won the 2018 Laramie Open, shooting a 12-under-par 130.
