THE SARRA FILE EVENT GROUP: POLE VAULT School Records: 4 All-Americans: 4 Conference Champions: 4 Conference Medalists: 13 COACHING EXPERIENCE 2010-19: State College Area HS 2013-19: VaultWorx 2019-21: Louisiana Pole Vault Compound (Head Coach) 2022-23: Texas A&M (Volunteer Coach) 2024-: Texas A&M (Assistant Coach) Joe Sarra is in his third season as a full-time assistant coach for the track & field team and his fifth year total with the program. He leads the pole vault groups and during his time coaching with the program his group has accumulated one national title, 14 conference medals, including four gold, three silver and six bronze, while also helping obtain five All-America honors. His athletes dominate the top of the Texas A&M record books, as all four of the pole vault school records have fallen during his time with the team. Texas A&M's pole vault group has a 2025 season to remember under coach Sarra's leadership, as he secured his first NCAA Champion under his coaching which helped spearhead the Aggies 10th NCAA Championship team title. Aleksandr Solovev made history for the Maroon & White at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, as he became the first Aggie to win a pole vault national title after clearing a school-record mark of 5.78m/18-11.5 to ensure his crown. Solovev's success didn't stop there, as Sarra helped guide him to gold at the SEC Outdoor Championships, as well as the indoor school record in the event following a successful attempt over 5.80m/19-0.25.
