Former Texas A&M and NFL defensive lineman Tony Jerod-Eddie remained in Aggieland as a defensive line coach for head coach Mike Elko. Jerod-Eddie was previously promoted from defensive analyst to on-field assistant coach late in the 2023 season. In 2024, Jerod-Eddie helped guide the Aggies to an 8-5 record, including a program-best 5-0 start to SEC play, and an appearance in the Las Vegas Bowl. Texas A&M ranked among the top-35 nationally in tackles for loss (92.0) and scoring defense (22.2 p/g), while standing in the top-three in the SEC with 76 passes defended on the year. Three Aggie defensive linemen were selected in the first two rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, including first round selection Shemar Stewart, along with All-SEC and Walter Camp All-America Second Team honoree Nic Scourton and four-year letterman Shemar Turner. He has worked with Aggie defensive linemen Bobby Brown III (Los Angeles Rams), DeMarvin Leal (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Micheal Clemons (New York Jets) after returning to Aggieland in 2020 to work with the Aggie defensive line where he was mentored by coaches, Terry Price and Elijah Robinson. Jerod-Eddie signed a free agent contract with the San Francisco 49ers after the 2012 NFL draft and played for the club from 2012-2016, including Super Bowl XLVII against the Baltimore Ravens. After a bout with lupus, Jerod-Eddie retired from the NFL but spent time working with the Denver Broncos organization. A four-year Aggie letterman, he ended his career playing
