Biography

Renowned American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) judge and professional horsewoman Suzy Jeane is in her eighth season as an assistant coach with the Texas A&M equestrian team. Hayley Riddle rose to prominence during the 2020-21 season under Jeane’s tutelage as the junior was named a NCEA First Team All-American and the SEC Co-Horsemanship Rider of the Year. Riddle, who entered the season with six career wins, compiled a 9-1 record and was named MOP three times. In 2019-20, Jeane continued her success as the Horsemanship team registered an 8-2-2 ledger and finished No. 3 in the NCEA rankings. The team was led by seniors Katie Conklin and Ashley Davidson, who each tallied eight wins and earned NCEA All-American and SEC All-Horsemanship accolades. In Jeane’s first season in Aggieland, Texas A&M earned the No. 2 seed at the NCEA Championships in Horsemanship as the team posted a 12-3-3 record with four shutouts against Fresno State, Georgia, UC Davis and South Carolina. Three Aggies earned All-America honors as Alex Albright and Sarah Orsak earned first team recognition and Davidson earned honorable mention distinction. Orsak went on to win the AQHA Collegiate Horsemanship Championship. Jeane has broken many barriers for women in the equine industry as she was the 2004 AQHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year and became the first female president of the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) in 2000. She has also raised, bred and shown many world champions in several breeds. S
