She ran track at Division II Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, competing in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events. Harrison was also a contributing member of the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x800m relays. Harrison also competed in the junior Olympics for seven years, qualifying for state and regional meets.
