Brittany Boyd-Jones

Biography

Brittany Boyd-Jones brings a load of playing experience after a decorated collegiate career and six seasons in the WNBA. Jones joined the Gaels coaching staff in 2024 after two years as an assistant with Cal State East Bay. After the conclusion of her WNBA career and spending time overseas, Jones returned to Northern California and joined the coaching staff for Division II member Cal State East Bay for the 2022-23 season. Her playing career began with Cal in 2011 where she had a tremendous impact as a true freshman, being named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team and earning All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. Jones was one of only two freshmen to have ten steals in a single game and finished the season ranked 69th in the country and third in the Pac-12 with 2.54 steals per game. As a young sophomore, Jones played a pivotal role in the team’s 32-win season and helped the Bears to their first ever Final Four appearance. They would fall to Louisville in the semi-finals and Jones ended the season averaging over 12 points, four assists and five rebounds. Jones only got better as her career continued and she would have a breakout 2013-14 season, averaging a career high 14.7 points and 6.0 assists per game. She would help the Golden Bears to a 22-win season which included a first round NCAA Tournament victory over Fordham and she was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team for the second year in a row.
