Jeremy Hirsch

Defensive Coordinator

Jeremy Hirsch, who has brought stability and his passion for the program to the Tiger defense, has been Princeton's defensive coordinator since the 2018 season. Under his watch, Princeton has had the Ivy League's top defense each of the last three years, enabling the team to make three straight NCAA tournament appearances and one Final Four and win back-to-back Ivy League tournament championships in 2023 and 2024. His defense in 2022 held nine of 16 opponents to 10 or fewer goals and allowed 28 goals in three NCAA tournament games as the Tigers returned to Championship Weekend. A former Princeton captain, Hirsch in 2019 became the first defensive coordinator to return for a second season in seven years, and the importance of such consistency has been obvious. The 2019 Tigers ranked second in the Ivy League in scoring defense, after his defense allowed nearly four goals per game fewer during the 2018 season-ending five-game winning streak than it had during the first eight games of the year. The 2020 team was 5-0 when the Covid pandemic shut down the season. Hirsch, a 2010 Princeton grad and the sole captain of the 2010 Tigers, returned to Princeton after spending four years as the defensive coordinator at Hobart. Hirsch was a three-year starter for the Tigers as a defenseman. He helped Princeton to the NCAA tournament three times, including the quarterfinals his junior year, and played on Ivy League championship teams as a junior and senior. Princeton also won the inaugural I

Jim Mitchell

Offensive Coordinator

Jim Mitchell, a veteran of Division I lacrosse who has orchestrated the record-setting Princeton offense that returned to Championship Weekend in 2022 and has reached three straight NCAA tournaments, has been the Princeton offensive coordinator since the 2020 season. He also serves as the OC for the Cannons of the Premier Lacrosse League. During that time, Mitchell has orchestrated three of the top seven scoring offenses in program history — and this is a program that has had some of the most legendary offenses in college lacrosse history. Princeton's offense has averaged 14.54 goals per game since Mitchell has been with the Tigers offense. His first three full seasons have seen the Tigers reach the NCAA tournament each time and win two Ivy League tournament championships. The team was ranked second in the country when the 2020 season was canceled. During his time at Princeton, he has coached the program's single-season goals leader (Coulter Mackesy, 55, in 2023), the No. 2 freshman scorer in program history (Nate Kabiri, 57 points, 2024) and the top scorer in Princeton history (Michael Sowers, who was averaging 9.4 points per game under Mitchell's tutelage). Kabiri, Mackesy and Colin Burns are three of the top five freshmen goal scorers in progream history; all three did so during Mitchell's tenure. The 2024 team, starting two freshmen on attack and a third in the midfield, scored 14 or more goals 11 times, including in both Ivy League tournament games, where the Tigers put
