Biography

PRINCETON RECRUITING AREAS — Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, New York (Upstate) Nichols is in his third season with Princeton in 2026. Ethan Clark was named Second-Team All-Ivy in 2025 after posting nearly 800 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns. Clark ranked sixth in the Ivy League in both overall rushing yards and rushing yards in Ivy League games (484). John Volker earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy in 2024. Volker finished fifth in the Ivy League in rushing (57.1 yards per game), and he capped his career in style, rushing for 130 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown, in a season-ending win over Penn. Prior to his time with Princeton, Nichols was at Army, coaching slot backs. Previously, he served as the Director of Player Development at East Carolina in 2021. In his role with the Pirates, he oversaw multiple aspects of the players' day-to-day, including community service activities, off- and on-campus living, and finances. He also was an assistant for ECU during the 2017-18 campaigns. Nichols' time at ECU was broken up by a two-year stay at Richmond (2020-21), where he held also held the position of Assistant Coach/Running Backs. Nichols got his start in working with running backs at Western Carolina, where he was an assistant coach for the 2016 season.
