Head Coach
After joining the program in January 2022 and serving as assistant coach for three seasons, Kenzie Brinkman was named interim head coach in May 2025. On Nov. 20, 2025, AD Slade Larscheid removed her interim title, making Brinkman the 13th head coach in Ohio Volleyball history. As an assistant coach, Brinkman primarily worked with the setters and the offense but also aided in the coaching of Ohio's back row defense. Since joining the program, Ohio has earned eight MAC East Division Setter of the Week honors. The team ranked second for assists in the conference in 2022 and fifth in 2023. In October 2024, Brinkman was recognized as a member of the 2024 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Thirty Under 30 college group. Previously, Brinkman was the assistant coach for the United States Military Academy. With Army, Brinkman helped guide the Cadets to their first Patriot League title and NCAA Tournament birth since 2009. Brinkman also helped coach four All-Patriot League performers in the historic 2020 season. Prior to West Point, she spent two years as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. The Lopers went 71-4 during Brinkman's two seasons on the staff, reaching the winning the MIAA Championship in both seasons with two trips to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Assistant Coach
After spending several years with the program, Sam DeJoseph was named an assistant coach in January 2025. DeJoseph served as graduate assistant during Brinkman's first season at the helm of the Ohio volleyball program. During the 2025 season, DeJoseph helped the Bobcats to a 14-17 overall, 12-6 conference record and No. 3 seed in the MAC Tournament. DeJoseph coached two First Team All-MAC honorees including the 2025 MAC Freshman of the Year, Bailey Blair. As a graduate assistant, DeJoseph developed and implemented offensive systems that elevated team performance to second in the MAC for hitting percentage, assists per set and kills per set throughout conference play. DeJoseph started working with the Ohio volleyball program as a practice player in 2023. He was elevated to head student manager in 2024. DeJoseph played for the Ohio men's club volleyball team and served as vice president. DeJoseph graduated in 2025 with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business Analytics from Ohio University.
