Assistant Coach

Born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Austin graduated from Taconic High School in 2018 before continuing his baseball career at Division III MCLA. Over five seasons (2019–2023), the three-year captain earned multiple accolades, including MCLA Male Athlete of the Year, MASCAC Player of the Year, and All-American honors following a record-breaking 2023 season. He also starred in the Futures League, playing 3 summers for his hometown Pittsfield Suns and earning first-team All-Star recognition. For his final year of eligibility, he transferred to Division I Siena College for the 2023–2024 season, competing in the MAAC as a leading offensive threat and the cornerstone of the Saints' lineup. His coaching career began in 2019 while he was in school, when he gave individual and group lessons at The Infield in Pittsfield during the offseason. Today, he continues to develop players of all levels, from tee-ball to college, focusing on skill development in all aspects of the game, with a primary emphasis on hitting. Most recently, Rachiele assisted head coach Mike Gladu during the 2025 North Adams Steeplecats season, where they led the Cats to an NECBL playoff berth. He looks forward to returning to his alma mater to coach the 2026 Trailblazers this spring.
