Biography

Andrew Vereen, who has over 10 years of professional experience in athletic training, was named the Men’s Basketball Athletic Trainer for the Hoosiers on June 1, 2025. AT INDIANA In his debut season at Indiana the Hoosiers finished 18-14 and 9-11 in Big Ten Conference play. IU played the nation’s 36th-hardest schedule with 14 games against opponents that made the NCAA Tournament. The Hoosiers earned marquee wins over No. 12 Purdue (Jan. 27), at UCLA (Jan. 31), and against Wisconsin (Feb. 7). BEFORE BLOOMINGTON Vereen, a native of Sioux City, Iowa, spent five years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Drake University Sports Medicine Staff. While with the Bulldogs, he spent three seasons in charge of the healthcare of the men’s basketball and cheer programs, as well as two years with the women’s soccer and softball programs. While with the Bulldogs, he was a part of three straight Missouri Valley Conference Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. He spent the 2016-20 seasons as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the University of Kansas football program, one season as an intern, and three seasons as a full-time staff member. He also earned his master’s in business administration from the University of Kansas as well. Vereen received his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Northern Iowa in 2014, and later his master’s degree in athletic training from UNI in 2016.
