Angie Potts returns for another season behind the bench with the Gustavus women's basketball team in the 2024-25 academic year. In the 2023-24 season, Potts helped the Gusties to their best national ranking in team history, a sweep of the MIAC regular season and playoff championships, and their third consecutive NCAA postseason appearance. A 2004 Gustavus graduate and 2019 Hall of Famer, Angie Peterson Potts was a consummate team player and shut-down defender on the court for the Gustie women's basketball team. After transferring to Gustavus her sophomore year, Potts went on to earn All-America honors from both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and D3hoops.com, and was named the 2003-04 Gustavus Female Athlete of the Year. A dynamic athlete with the ability to play anywhere on the court, Potts guided the Gusties to the 2002-03 MIAC championship and an appearance at the NCAA tournament. The Northfield, Minn., native was a two-time All-Region honoree, three-time All-Conference Team member, and was twice named to the MIAC All-Defensive Team. Peterson Potts graduated as the program record holder for points in a season (472) and three-pointers made (62). In three seasons wearing the Black and Gold, Peterson Potts posted 1,333 points (16.1 per game) and 192 steals. After graduating magna cum laude in 2004 with a degree in elementary education, Potts earned her master's degree in Differentiated Instruction from Concordia-St. Paul in 2009.
