Gettysburg College Women's Tennis

Michael Vann is the head men's and women's tennis coach at Gettysburg College, entering his fourth season after taking over the program in spring 2023. During his first three seasons, he has guided both teams to conference tournament appearances and coached 13 all-conference players. His men's team achieved its first-ever national ranking in 2024-25, garnering a spot in the top 75 in Division III. Prior to Gettysburg, Vann spent nine years as an assistant coach at Johns Hopkins, where he helped the men's tennis program to a 69-1 record in conference matches, eight conference titles, and NCAA tournament appearances each season, including a national semifinal appearance in 2021. He was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Assistant Coach of the Year for the Atlantic South Region following the 2021 season and coached more than 25 All-American and all-conference selections. Before Johns Hopkins, he served as head coach at Goucher College for seven seasons (2005-12), posting 26 wins with the men's program. He has also coached at Kenyon, Bucknell, Birmingham-Southern, and the University of Alabama, his alma mater. Vann is a certified United States Tennis Association High Performance Coach and holds certifications as a USTA Elite Professional and Professional Tennis Registry Performance Professional.
