Biography

Jim Moran was introduced by Luke Loucks as the associate head coach for the Florida State Seminoles for the 2025–26 season. Moran brings over a decade of NBA and developmental league coaching experience to the Seminoles' bench. Most recently, Moran has served as an Assistant Coach for the Sacramento Kings under Head Coach Mike Brown since 2024. Before that, he was the Head Coach of the Rip City Remix (2023–2024), the G League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as an Assistant Coach for the Detroit Pistons under Dwane Casey. Moran spent a significant portion of his early coaching career with the Portland Trail Blazers, first as an Associate Video Coordinator (2014–2015) and later as an Assistant Coach (2015–2021) under Terry Stotts. He began his coaching journey as a Player Development Coach with the Maine Red Claws during the 2013–2014 season. Moran played collegiately at William & Mary, while earning his bachelor’s degree in sociology.
