Adam Waterhouse was hired at Farmingdale State College in the fall of 2006 with the opportunity to develop the school's men's and women's tennis programs from scratch. In the Rams' first varsity season (2007-08), he led the women's team to a 4-5 record, and the men to a 5-7 mark – with both teams making appearances in their respective Skyline Conference Championship tournaments. Coach Waterhouse has earned Skyline Conference Coach of the Year honors 17 times in his career, including nine times on the men's side (2009, 2011-13, 2015, 2019, 2021, 2024-25) and on eight occasions with the women's program (2012, 2015-16, 2019, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2025). With the men's team, Farmingdale State captured seven Skyline Conference Championships (2011, 2012, 2013, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025) and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament seven times under Waterhouse's tutelage. He currently holds a career record of 174-86 (.669) with the men's team. The women's team has captured eight Skyline Conference titles (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024), advancing to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship on each of those occasions. Waterhouse currently holds a career record of 183-86 (.680) with the women's team. Waterhouse was born and raised in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and is a 1980 graduate of Plattsburgh High School, where he qualified for the New York State High School Championships three of his four years (1978, 1979, 1980).
