Alex Devine

Biography

Alex Devine joined the Duke coaching staff in February 2024 and was promoted to assistant coach in 2026. He works primarily with the Blue Devil defensive tackles. He originally served as a defensive analyst during the 2024 campaign before a promotion to associate defensive line coach, working primarily with the defensive tackles, for the 2025 season. With Devine’s assistance in 2025, defensive tackle Aaron Hall earned Third Team All-ACC honors. He started all 14 games, recording 44 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and four quarterback pressures. He tied for 13th in the ACC in tackles for loss and was part of a Blue Devil defense that featured three players with 9.0+ TFL (Vincent Anthony Jr. — 13.0 & Wesley Williams — 9.0). Duke was one of just three programs in the ACC to have three or more players with 9.0 or more tackles for loss, joining Miami and Clemson. Hall finished the year with five tackles in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl en route to receiving the game’s Jimmy Rogers Jr. Most Valuable Lineman accolades. Devine also helped graduate transfer Josiah Green settle into Duke’s system. Green was the defensive recipient of the team’s Hard Hitter Award, presented to the hardest-hitting and most physical players on the team. He started all 14 games and ended the campaign with 37 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three pass breakups and two quarterback pressures.
