Jonathan Breitbarth has been the cross country coach at Concordia-St. Paul since January 1998, marking 28 years of leadership heading into the 2025 season. He earned NSIC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year honors in 2001 and is the second longest tenured cross country coach in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the longest tenured head coach at Concordia-St. Paul. Under his leadership, both the men's and women's cross country programs have achieved numerous accolades, including a women's runner-up finish in 2000 and men's runner-up in 2004. His program has produced 30 All-NSIC runners and 165 NSIC All-Academic student-athletes. Four athletes have earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, and the combined teams have received 22 USTFCCCA Team Academic Awards since 2005, with the men's team ranking first nationally in GPA twice (2006, 2014). Beyond coaching, Breitbarth serves as Director of Computer Services at the university and was selected for a leadership cohort representing Concordia in the Concordia University System. As a student-athlete at Concordia, he was a two-time Chiapuzio Award nominee who earned the award as a senior, was a Dean's List student every quarter, and graduated Cum Laude. As a runner, he won the Small School Championships as a junior and finished in the top half of the NAIA national meet as a senior, while in track he set seven school records and was UMAC Champion in the 800 meter, 4x800 and 4x400 relays.
