Coastal Carolina University Women's Tennis

Catherine Hewitt was named the head women's tennis coach at Coastal Carolina in July 2011. The 2024-25 season marked her 14th year leading the Chanticleers. Over her tenure, the team has posted 12 winning seasons, 13 double-digit win seasons, and finished above .500 in conference play 11 times, including winning the regular-season Big South Conference championship in 2015. The program has been named an ITA All-Academic Team every year under her direction. Hewitt came to Coastal Carolina after three-plus years as director of tennis at Spring Valley Country Club in Columbia, South Carolina, where she managed all club operations and coached junior teams. Prior to that, she served as head teaching professional at Topspin Racquet & Swim Club in Lexington, South Carolina. Hewitt is a member of the Professional Tennis Registry with professional-level certification through the United States Professional Tennis Association. During her playing career, she helped guide the University of South Carolina to a No. 11 national ranking in 2000 and an SEC championship finals appearance in 2001. She was named the 1998 South Carolina Junior Player of the Year after winning the 1998 Wachovia Palmetto singles championship. Hewitt earned her undergraduate degree in sport and entertainment management from the University of South Carolina in 2003 and is a Conway, South Carolina native.

Jody Davis enters his ninth season as a volunteer assistant for the Coastal Carolina women's tennis team. Davis had previously served 15 years as the head coach

Kurtis Caster joined the Chanticleers women’s tennis team as an assistant coach in August 2019.   A USPTA certified teaching professional, Caster previously worked
