Interim Head Coach
Katie Vahle began her collegiate coaching career at Central Michigan in January 2026, immediately following an impressive playing career as a goalkeeper at Arizona State. She was named the interim Head Coach of Chippewa Lacrosse on March 5, 2026. The two-time graduate of Arizona State—a bachelor’s in sports business and a master’s in digital audience strategy—is the program’s all-time leader in saves (661), a mark that stood third in NCAA I among active goalies upon her career’s conclusion. She earned two conference all-tournament selections, seven conference weekly honors, marked double-digit saves in 31 of 73 career games, a.430 save percentage, 114 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers in her career. Vahle offered her services in youth coaching throughout her collegiate playing career. She was a volunteer assistant coach at Eastport South Manor High School, her alma mater, for four years and has been an assistant for the Long Island Yellow Jackets, coaching the 2033 and 2034 classes in 2024 and 2025, respectively. She has also provided private coaching to goalies aged 5-17 since June 2019.
