California State University-Fullerton Men's Basketball

Former Arizona State associate head men's basketball coach and long-time college assistant Dedrique Taylor was appointed the 11th men's basketball head coach in Cal State Fullerton history on April 3, 2013. A native Californian, Taylor joined Arizona State's program after spending two seasons at Nevada, helping the Wolf Pack to a 27-6 overall record and a third-straight NCAA Tournament in 2005-06. He also spent two seasons as an assistant at Portland State, one season at Loyola Marymount, and one season at UC Davis. As a player, Taylor began his career at Kings River Community College, transferred to Armstrong Atlantic State, and finished at UC Davis, where he graduated with a degree in sociology and organizational studies in 1997. He earned a master's degree in sports administration from the United States Sports Academy in 2000. During his tenure at Cal State Fullerton, Taylor has led the Titans to two NCAA Tournament appearances, multiple Big West Tournament appearances, and has coached 24 student-athletes who went on to play professionally, with 16 earning All-Big West honors. He was named 2025-26 Big West Head Coach of the Year and a 2026 Skip Prosser Man of the Year Finalist.

Hassan Nizam joined the Titans in 2025 as an Assistant Coach for the Titans Men’s Basketball team. Prior to joining Cal State Fullerton, Nizam spent time coaching

Jayson Wells was hired as an assistant coach in July 2024. He had been involved with the Titan program over the previous several seasons as a skills development
