Jason Cohen

Biography

Jason Cohen, who has been a collegiate head coach dating back 15 years to the end of his record-setting playing career at Stevenson University, was selected as Bucknell's head men's tennis coach in August 2022. Cohen came to Bucknell from the California Institute of Technology, where he had been Caltech's head men's coach for the previous four seasons. In his first three seasons at the helm, Cohen elevated the Bison back to the top of the Patriot League, culminating in the program's first conference championship since 1991 in the spring of 2025. Bucknell defeated Navy 4-1 -- its first-ever dual-match win over the Midshipmen -- in the tourney final on its home courts to clinch the program's first-ever team berth in the NCAA Tournament. Bucknell went 50-22 in Cohen's first three seasons, its most wins in any three-year period in team history. The Bison finished 19-7 during the 2025 championships season, tying the school record for dual wins in a season. Cohen has helped develop one of the top senior classes in school history, led by Patriot League Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year Amar Tahirovic. A two-time Patriot League individual champion in both singles and doubles, Tahirovic started the 2025-26 season with a top-50 national ranking and earned berths in several high-level national ITA tournaments. Prior to Bucknell, Cohen became Caltech's first-ever head men's tennis coach in July of 2018, after the school split the men's and women's coaching positions. Two
