Head Coach
Kim McGowan enters her fourth season as the Governors head soccer coach after being named the third head coach in program history, Dec. 13, 2021. In her first three seasons, McGowan has posted a 15-26-17 record with eight student-athletes receiving ASUN Conference postseason honors, and made the ASUN Championship for the first time in program history in the 2023 season. A Cincinnati, Ohio native, McGowan played four years of college soccer at Ohio Northern (2008-11), where she won the OAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament twice, while also playing a season of junior varsity basketball and a season of golf for the Polar Bears. McGowan holds her USSF Senior "A" License, a NSCAA Premier Diploma, NSCAA Goal Keeping Level 3, and is currently on staff with ODP Region III. In 2016, she was named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 program, and recently was a 30 Under 30 mentor in 2023-24. McGowan graduated from Ohio Northern with a bachelor of arts in sports management in 2012. She earned a master of science in sports administration from Georgia State University in December 2013.

Taylor Borman enters her fourth season as an assistant coach under Kim McGowan after joining the staff in August 2022. Borman works with defenders and goalkeepers and helped coach three Governors' defensive units that have posted 15 shutouts in her time at Austin Peay. With the help of Borman's coaching, senior Chloé Dion posted a career year in the net. Dion's six shutouts in 2022 were the fourth-most by a goalkeeper in program history, while her 1.18 goals-against average was the seventh-best mark by an APSU goalkeeper. In addition to her work on Austin Peay's defense, Borman also serves as the recruiting coordinator and helped bring in the Governors' nine-man 2023 class. Borman spent two seasons (2020-21) at Georgia State as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator under head coach Ed Joyce. During her time in Atlanta, the Panthers combined for a 19-7-9 record, including a 10-3-2 mark in 2020 – the most wins by the program since 1998. In the 2020 season, Broman helped coach five student-athletes to All-Sun Belt Conference selections, the most in program history. Prior to her time at Georgia State, Borman spent two seasons (2018-19) at Alabama State as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator under Jodie Smith. During her time in Montgomery, Alabama, the Hornets won 12 matches and had three players named to All-Southwestern Athletic Conference teams.
