Austin Powell

Biography

Austin Powell joined Wisconsin Athletics in the spring of 2017. Currently, Powell serves as an Olympic strength and conditioning doctoral fellow and is the S&C department's performance technology coordinator, a position he was elevated to in 2022. In this capacity, Powell oversees the strength and conditioning related services for the men's and women's rowing programs while providing oversight of the Olympic strength and conditioning departments performance technology services. Powell is currently enrolled in the school of Kinesiology as a doctoral student pursing a PhD in athlete monitoring and sports performance. Powell completed his master's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in biomechanics and his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Powell has worked in multiple private facilities as well as completing an internship at Louisiana State University working with football and various Olympic sports. Powell is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through NSCA and is also TPI Level 1 and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) certified.
