Biography

Tavion Pleasant was hired on Sept. 5, 2023 as a full-time strength and conditioning coach for the tennis and swimming and diving programs. In May 2025, Pleasant was promoted and began working with the Mean Green women's basketball and volleyball teams. Pleasant is a UNT alumnus with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2020), a Master's of Science in Kinesiology (2023) and a Master's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (2023). He has worked with UNT strength and conditioning since 2018 when he began as a student intern. He became a graduate assistant in 2021, primarily working with swimming and diving and tennis as the head strength and conditioning coach for both programs while also assisting with football and other sports in the weight room. Pleasant was born and raised in Chicago before arriving in Denton.
