Josh Hewitt

Biography

Josh Hewitt returned for his second go-round with UNLV Athletics in 2025 and oversees the Rebels' football equipment operations. He moved back to Las Vegas after spending the previous three years as Director of Equipment Operations at BYU. Hewitt is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Manager Association and an active member of the American Football Coaches Association. He holds a B.S. in Sports Science from Avila University, where he was a team captain and four-year starter at center. His professional experience includes roles at BYU, UNLV, Fresno State, Central Arkansas, and the Kansas City Royals, as well as equipment positions with the St. Louis Rams. His grandfather, Don Hewitt, worked as equipment manager for the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams for 32 years, and his father, Todd Hewitt, worked with the Rams' equipment before spending 10 years in the same role at USC. His brother, Travis, works as Director of Equipment Operations at Fresno State.
