Shane Meyer

Biography

Shane Meyer, a highly decorated placekicker for head coach Willie Fritz at Central Missouri, joined the University of Houston Football program in December 2023 as its Associate Athletic Director, Director of Football Operations. Prior to Houston, Meyer spent eight seasons with Tulane (2016-23) as Associate Athletic Director for Football Operations, handling administrative duties including travel, scheduling, and program organization. His time at Tulane included a Cotton Bowl Classic victory and one American Athletic Conference Championship. In 2022, Meyer was selected as the FootballScoop Operations Director of the Year. He previously spent 2014-15 at Georgia Southern in the same role under Fritz, four and a half years as Head Girls' Basketball Coach at Jefferson City High School in Missouri, and began his coaching career in 2002. As a student-athlete at Central Missouri (1995-98), Meyer was a four-time All-MIAA selection and three-time Academic All-American. In 1997, he kicked 18 field goals to set UCM's single-season record and holds the career record with 49. He was inducted into the Central Missouri Hall of Fame in 2009. Meyer is married to fellow Central Missouri alum Chris and has two children, Trey and Leah.
