Biography

Joseph Stone joined the University of Houston Sports Performance team as an Assistant Strength Coach in June 2025 and works with the Cougar Football team. Stone comes to Houston by way of Abilene Christian where he served as the Director of Olympic Strength & Conditioning and the Director of Football Speed Development for three years overseeing a comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for the Wildcats' women's basketball and soccer and assisted with the implementation of the football strength and conditioning program. Prior to Abilene Christian, Stone was a Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Jackson State supporting the football program where he led offensive and defensive linemen in weekly speed and agility training during summer workouts from 2022-23. Stone earned his start in collegiate athletics at Memphis where he was a strength & conditioning intern for the Tigers' football team. He graduated from Delta State with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from Delta State in 2020 and a Masters in Human Performance in 2022.
