Jake Schrum

Biography

Jake Schrum joined University of Delaware Athletics in January 2015 in the new position of technology and events manager. He's received four promotions during his time in Newark and currently serves as the Senior Associate AD, Facilities/Operations & Capital Projects. At Delaware, Schrum oversees all facilities and event operations, while playing a major role in all capital projects. Schrum, who earned his degree in communications studies from West Virginia University in 2008, comes to Delaware after serving for the last two years as assistant director of marketing for the Wilmington (Del.) Blue Rocks Baseball Club, a Kansas City Royals Class A affiliate. During his time with the Blue Rocks, Schrum planned and executed in-game events and promotions, managed installation of signage, sold stadium advertising as part of the corporate sales team, designed sales and game graphics, and produced and edited commercials and videos. He previously had worked with the Blue Rocks as a community relations assistant in 2009 and as a production and promotions assistant in 2010. Prior to his most recent stint with the Blue Rocks, Schrum served two years as promotions manager for the Lake County Captains Baseball Club, the Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians in Eastlake, Ohio. He coordinated all aspects of game day events and promotions, maintained the stadium video board and sound systems, and oversaw game day promotions. He and his wife, Tara, reside in Newark, Del.
